On 4 May 2021, more than 300 overseas Chinese students from 31 universities and 22 Chinese Students and Scholars Association in North England, together with the students from Lanzhou University(LZU) and Northwest Normal University(NWNU), met online to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party and the May Fourth Youth Day. The event was broadcast live through Weibo ukzone, bilibili and Youtube to students home and abroad.

Ma Xiaojie, head of LZU, said in his speech that overseas Chinese students serve best bridge between China and the UK. He hope that they join the young generation of the new era to commit themselves to building a community of common destiny for mankind.
Zhang Junzong, head of NWNU, hoped that Chinese students home and abroad would communicate and learn from each other, and align Chinese dream with the world dream.
