On August 5th 2019, Consul General Zheng Xiyuan and his wife met with Professor Peter Gries, Director of Manchester China Institute, at their residence. Deputy Consul General Fan Yingjie attended the meeting.
Consul General Zheng expressed his appreciation for the positive measures taken by the University of Manchester in continuously expanding cooperation with China, caring for the physical and mental health of Chinese overseas students and setting up scholarships for poor Chinese female students. He hoped that Manchester China Institute would play a bigger role in pooling academic resources of the University of Manchester and promoting exchanges between Chinese and British think tanks.
